I want something new. What is it?
Three questions, in order. At the first one you answer with yes, you are done.
Question 1: Does it work with a human at a screen, even when no agent is running?
Yes: It is a tool. Beyondles builds tools. Report the need in Beyondles HorAIzon via "Capabilities › Send a request" or write to [email protected].
No: Go to question 2.
Question 2: Does it need an outcome and a trigger, and does it keep running over time?
Yes: It is a capability. Create it under "Capabilities › Build your own". A goal and a trigger are enough to start; the team of agents is proposed for you.
No: Go to question 3.
Question 3: Does it describe how a specific piece of work is done, and does it change nothing as long as nobody reads it?
Yes: It is a procedure. Write it as a skill and assign it to the agents that do this work. It only takes effect when a capability uses it.
No: If it applies to everything that leaves the house, it is a standard. It has no trigger, it always applies. Until the dedicated area exists, create it as a skill and assign it to every agent that writes to the outside.
Typical wrong calls
- "We want all mails to sound friendlier" created as a capability. That is a standard. A capability would touch every mail individually and still set nothing permanent.
- "This is how we check an invoice" created as a capability. That is a procedure. The capability is "Every incoming invoice is checked within one day", and it uses the procedure.
- A separate agent for every small thing. Agents come out of capabilities. Start with the goal, not with the person.
